A Dutch Hero Comes to Warn Us, Seek Our Support. The Incomparable Geert Wilders, MP, in New York City.

“I have come to warn you of a great threat. Free speech is no longer a given, we must now battle for our birthright. We are looking at the end of democracy, the slavery of women, the death of gays. While there might be moderate Muslims, there is no such thing as moderate Islam. Islam is not a religion, it is a political and totalitarian ideology.”

Some would say that these are fighting words.

Indeed, Dutch parliamentarian, Geert Wilders, is fighting for Western liberty and Western values, as rooted in the legacies of “Athens, Rome, and Jerusalem.” This is the legacy he wishes to leave the “children of Europe,” as opposed to the legacy of “Mecca and Gaza.” Wilders is fighting for us all, his fight is our fight. As he said earlier today, “it is not about (him) but about Free Speech.” Today he may be a “criminal, tomorrow, anyone of us might be considered a criminal too,” for telling the truth about the danger that Islam poses to Western democracy. “Today I may be put behind bars. I am not the issue. Will free speech be put behind bars?”

Defend Geert Wilders and Freedom of Speech

January 22, 2009 – Washington, DC and Copenhagen, Denmark: A Dutch court yesterday ordered the criminal prosecution of Geert Wilders, Dutch parliamentarian and leader of the Freedom Party (PVV), for his statements – written, spoken and filmed -regarding Islam. The Amsterdam Court of Appeals has deemed such statements “insulting,” declaring that they “substantially harm the religious esteem” of Muslims.

Clearly, the effect of this Dutch court order is to set new limits to public debate in Dutch society, in this case about the highly controversial but nonetheless crucially important subject of Islam. This makes the prosecution of Geert Wilders an unacceptable breach of the sanctity of freedom of speech in Western society.

Having ordered a criminal prosecution for the opinions of a duly elected leader of a legitimate political party, Dutch authorities have dealt a devastating blow to political expression. While Dutch prosecutors prepare their indictment and Geert Wilders’ future hangs in limbo, who in The Netherlands will dare discuss political and cultural matters related to Islam – Islamic law, Islamic integration, Islamic crime, Islamic policy – openly, freely and fearlessly? The chilling effect is instantaneous. If, indeed, Wilders is ultimately convicted, free speech will cease to exist in the heart of Europe.

The International Free Press Society believes this court-ordered prosecution against Geert Wilders, a central figure in the fight against the Islamization of the West, amounts to a dangerous concession to the strictures of Islamic law, which prohibits all criticism of Islam, over Western traditions of, and rights to robust and unfettered debate. As such, it is tantamount to a surrender to totalitarian influences that undermine all Western freedoms. And as such, it must be resisted.

It is important to recall recent history. Two Dutchmen, Pim Fortuyn and Theo van Gogh, have been murdered for their outspoken opposition to Islamization in The Netherlands. Another Dutch politician, Ayaan Hirsi Ali, has been infamously forced into exile. Wilders alone now carries this debate over Islam in Dutch society forward – forcefully but logically, outspokenly but reasonably, and always peacefully. In order to do so, this member of Dutch parliament lives in a virtual prison, consigned to 24-hour guard by Islamic death threats against his life. Now, Dutch authorities have ordered him to be prosecuted for the Orwellian crime of committing “insulting” words.

As Wilders puts it,

“If I have to stand trial, I will not stand trial alone, but also with the hundreds of thousands of Dutch people who reject the Islamization of The Netherlands.”

He will also stand trial with those in The Netherlands and beyond who reject government prosecutions of free speech. In recognition of this dire situation, the IFPS immediately calls on every supporter of free speech to come to the aid of Geert Wilders. The Great Dutchman Geert Wilders Slams Euroweenie Dhimmi Suicide.

Geert Wilders Leader of the Partij Voor Vrijheid and a member of the Dutch Parliament, is a very rare European man. Geert has balls, a backbone, a brain, pride and an adult sense of history via research and analytical skills. Geert believes in himself, his culture, its achievements, the hard won freedoms and effective values of capitalist democracy etc. Geert loves America and is not an anti-Semite. Geert presents the harsh empirical avalanche of facts regarding Islam. Thus Geert Wilders is largely a man alone in the doomed EU, which doesn’t stand for European Union at all, but for Eunuchs Unconscious.

He’s not a Socialist boob, nor a Eurojerk elitist eternally jealous of American power and action. He’s not a Eurabian dhimmi ruling class imbecile, chattering away forever and all the way to the firing squad and beheading.

Nor is Geert the brainless and ignorant Pavlovian anti-American twerp that infests virtually every level of the Euro trash pile. Europe has a powerful economy per se, but is pathetically dependent on the innovation, guts, talent and markets of America and elsewhere. And Europeans don’t believe in nor do they defend, their own faded values against anyone, anywhere, anyhow, anymore.

The Euroweenie sees this toleration for the intolerance of Islam and the subsequent continent-wide sinking into a mire of gloom, as a self-evident achievement. Only the dopes of a dimwit dystopia would see steady social decay and a feeble overreach, as a poke in the eye to the massive power of America.

The EU’s lack of real professional firepower goes in hand in hand with their endless mealy mouthed and preposterous allegedly big talk and no action.

Ironically, rather like the Islamists who are bearing down on them, but much more effectively than the EUnuch’s of Poot, the mass murdering Islamic Nemesis carry out their nihilistic threats to the letter.

In Euro off the rails land, MUSLIM TERROR ALWAYS PAYS. Handsomely. It’s even subsidised.

Even with the now free and ex-Communist, naturally pro-American and freedom valuing Eastern states, most of Europe has no military power worth a damn, with all the reach of a stale croissant.

As Centurion Marcus Steynus said, the basic ability to defend the security of the people is THE definition of a mature and effective state. Not ONE European country can do this. Not even England can mount a serious effort virtually beyond its coastline and thus internationally. Britain is gutted by decades of Socialist Marxist indoctrination, Islamisation, censorship, disarmament of the people and is therefore old boy, doomed.
