President Obama’s Dishonest Demagoguery on Tax Havens

September 13, 2009 by Orlando

Politicians who like higher taxes would like to shut down so-called tax havens so they can set up an “OPEC for politicians” and implement higher tax rates. Yet since all the evidence shows that low-tax jurisdictions are very beneficial for the global economy, the politicians often resort to dishonest demagoguery. This educational video from the Center for Freedom and Prosperity debunks President Obama’s two most common smears against tax havens.

Won’t You Be My Friend? By Barack

The White House today released the prepared remarks that are to allegedly going to be given to school children via a Nationwide feed.

The speech at first glance seems innocuous. It has one good point. It is evident that it is prepared for a teleprompter so school children across the Nation will understand that you have to be able to read.

The speech is supposedly about responsibility.

responsibility

noun (pl. responsibilities) 1 A form of trustworthiness; the trait of being answerable to someone for something or being responsible for one’s conduct. 2 the opportunity or ability to act independently and take decisions without authorization. 3 a thing which one is required to do as part of a job, role, or legal obligation

Since Obama brought the subject up perhaps we should dig a little deeper into the speech.

The quotes below are from the prepared remarks.

My father left my family when I was two years old, and I was raised by a single mother who struggled at times to pay the bills and wasn’t always able to give us things the other kids had.

  • 2 Feb 1961 Barack H. Obama Sr. marries Stanley A. Dunham (he is already married in Kenya)
  • 4 Aug 1961 Barack H. Obama II born
  • 19 Aug 1961 Stanley Dunham with Obama II in to shows up in Seattle, WA and registers for UofW
  • Jun 1962 Obama Sr. graduates UofH an shortly after leaves for Harvard
  • Two years old. Either Obama’s math skills are totally lacking, (which after hearing his economics plans could be correct) or his mother lied to him and he still hasn’t figured it out or he is lying.
  • Jan 1964 Dunham files for divorce. Divorce granted in Mar 1964.
  • 1965 Dunham marries Lolo Soetoro in Hawaii.
  • 1967 Barack Soetoro aka Obama moves to Indonesia
  • Obama attended the Franciscus Assisi Primary School in Jakarta Indonesia for grades 1,2, and3 because his mother was a US Embassy employee. Grade 4 he attended Besuki Public School.
  • Obama states his mother couldn’t afford his schooling yet she was married to an Indonesian Government geologist, who later worked for Mobil Oil. Franciscus Assisi Primary School is not a public school. Someone paid.
  • 1972 Dunham leaves Soetoro and returns to Hawaii where Barry attends the Punahou School, an expensive college preparatory academy.

I got a lot of second chances and had the opportunity to go to college, and law school, and follow my dreams. My wife, our First Lady Michelle Obama, has a similar story. Neither of her parents had gone to college, and they didn’t have much. But they worked hard, and she worked hard, so that she could go to the best schools in this country.

Interesting he mentions how Michelle’s college got paid for but skips over who paid for his. This is one question he refuses to answer. I wonder why!

No one’s born being good at things, you become good at things through hard work.

It takes a lot of hard work to become a proficient liar and teleprompter reader. Perhaps he should learn the 50 States and their capitals.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions.

If you ask questions of him be prepared for payback (just ask Rick Santelli) or derision from Georgetown Gibbs. It’s silly time. (Don’t go getting all wee wee-ed up now Robert, just smile for the cameras and giggle like a school girl.)

I’m working hard to fix up your classrooms and get you the books, equipment and computers you need to learn.

He is working hard on putting the students in debt for their entire lifetimes and the lifetimes of their children.

Thank you, God bless you, and God bless America.

Barack Obama has already proven his dislike this country during his Apology Tour. I wonder what God he is talking about since according to him America is not a Christian Nation.

Responsibility involves truthfulness. Obama has proven many times this year that he falls far short in this area. His refusal to allow access to his birth records and school records shouts WHY. He has a legal responsibility to prove his eligibility but he refuses to the tune of 1.4 million dollars in legal costs so far. Lies slip off his tongue like butter.  He surrounds himself with ne’er do wells anti-American academics and avowed socialists, interested in changing the principles on which America was founded. Responsibility involves taking the blame along with the credit, yet he blames others for his mistakes and errors.

Obama, in his effort to do something worthwhile, once again displays his desire to be in the spotlight without substance only a teleprompter script.

If they paid their bill the way we pay our taxes, it would go something like this:

The first four men (the poorest) would pay nothing.
The fifth would pay $1.
The sixth would pay $3.
The seventh would pay $7.
The eighth would pay $12.
The ninth would pay $18.
The tenth man (the richest) would pay $59.

Liberty Institute: This liberal attempt to intimidate pastors has backfired.

IRS upholds the ‘religious liberty’ clause of the U.S. Constitution

From the Liberty Legal Institute:

PLANO, TX — Liberty Legal Institute announced today that the Internal Revenue Service found that pastors who gathered in 2006 for a series of public policy conferences had every right to do so and that the organizers of the events did not violate any tax laws that govern non-profit organizations.

“This liberal attempt to intimidate pastors has backfired,” said Kelly Shackelford, chief counsel of Liberty Legal Institute which represented event organizers. “There is now a clear IRS statement outlining these pastors’ events and approving them as valid under the law.”

In January 2008, the IRS began its investigating into the Niemoller Foundation who held six conferences in 2006 calling pastors to stand up for moral issues and to encourage their congregants to get involved in the political process. The investigation was a result of a complaint filed by a politically liberal organization who accused the non-profit group of breaking the law by trying to influence political campaigns. Specifically, Niemoller was accused of “encouraging pastors at the gatherings to mount voter registration drives and turn congregants out at the polls.” The IRS ruled the meetings were legal.

“We educate churches on moral issues facing our society and encourage them to participate in the democratic process,” said Laurence White, director of the Niemoller Foundation and a Lutheran pastor. “The IRS has unequivocally affirmed the right of pastors nationwide to come together as spokesmen for the Word of God, to interact with political leaders, historians and scholars in discussing the moral issues under debate within our culture and to assert their Biblical responsibility to address such issues from their pulpits.”

A number of liberal groups have been in a national campaign filing IRS complaints against religious leaders and pastors. “Be careful what you hear from these liberal organizations,” Shackelford said. “They sound very confident and file many complaints yet none are found valid even by the IRS.”

Liberty Legal Institute specializes in First Amendment and constitutional law and is often before the U.S. Supreme Court. The Institute represents more than 4 million veterans in the Mojave Desert Memorial case, Salazar, et al. v. Buono, now before The Supreme Court.

Tea Party Shuffle

April 14, 2009 by Ron

Unless you’ve been living under a rock you are at least aware of Tea Parties.  Several rounds have already occured and hundreds are scheduled for tomorrow.  Initially the coverage was spotty but the Tea Parties have taken on a life of their own.

I think the primary reason is they are truely a grass roots effort.  Someone had an idea and it took off across the country.  Now, of course, everyone wants in on the action, including national organizations like the GOP.  A tweet from @DLoesch today included the following url, teaparty.gop.com.  They want to send post cards to the Democrat leadership.

I find that disturbing at best considering the GOP has been nearly as responsible as Democrats for the growth of government.  I don’t believe for a minute that the RNC wants in on this because it supports the philosophy behind it.  The GOP wants to glom onto what appears to be a solid movement because they see a political benefit, not because they’re behind us.

On the other side, Democrats are painting Tea Party goers as either morons or potential domestic terrorists.  On the moron side see the video below.

YouTube Direct

Whether we’re painted as morons or terrorists, we’ll be heard tomorrow.  I plan to attend a local Tea Party along with my wife.  I have no idea how many people will be there but i expect a good turn out.  I hope that is true across the country.  If you aren’t already planning on going to a Tea Party, I encourage you to do so.

This isn’t a partisan event, as much as some would like to make it out that way.  People of all political persuasions are agreeing that our government is out of control.  Democrats, Republicans, Independents and others have shown up for earlier Tea Parties and I expect that will be true tomorrow so add your voice.

Oh, and watch and see if some paid lackeys show up to disrupt any of the Tea Parties.  There are rumors, of course, but no one knows for sure.  If they do show up, they’ll be wasting their time.

To find a Tea Party in your area go to Tax Day Tea Party and choose your state in the upper right hand side.

Paul Krugman Is Obviously A Racist

(Cross-posted from America Needs Me)

Because that’s what anyone who criticizes President Obama is, right?

Krugman suffered from perhaps the second or third worst case of Bush Derangement Syndrome at the New York Times during the past eight years. That’s a very relative scale, however. The mildest case over there would have been enough to require hospitalization in the real world.

It is, of course, heresy to scrutinize Barack Obama in the Opinion section of the New York Times. Krugman must have some sort of immunity because he has a Nobel Prize and street cred as a full-blown left-of-Castro progressive. How long he’ll be allowed to question the purest-intentioned and smartest of all presidents in the history of politics EVER remains to be seen.

Right now he’s not playing nice at all.

It’s as if the president were determined to confirm the growing perception that he and his economic team are out of touch

This isn’t one of us bitter-clinger blogger crazies stating the obvious now, it’s one of the faithful. Still, the Thoughtful President responded with his now familiar “I know you are but what am I?” pout:

at a press conference, the president, with a slight note of irritation in his voice, invited Krugman (pronounced with an “oo,” not an “uh” sound) to offer a better plan for fixing the banking system.

Rather than thoughtfully explaining his ideas and proposals, Obama now regularly resorts to “You got any better ideas?” It is, to use an old political science label, completely chickens**t.

The president and his people seem unwilling, or unable, to accept the fact that they are in charge now. Their policies are going to have to stand on their own merits all the while facing criticism. The fact that Obama had to face so little of it during the campaign is beginning to show. He is more likely to have a snit than actually explain himself.

The “I don’t have to explain my plans because you haven’t offered any alternate plans” charade he keeps engaging in is more reminiscent of a sleep-deprived fourth grader than brilliant, serious world leader.

Again, this can all be filed under “Not Ready For The Gig”. The fairytale, free pass campaign is over and the administration has to function on this planet now. All but the most hardcore Obamabots will eventually begin to notice if the president, his press secretary and others can only respond with snotty, childish remarks.

And they should be very worried that there’s already been a honeymoon wrecking defector at the New York Times.

Dumb, Dumber and Dumbest

Public education in America at all levels is responsible to _________. Can you fill in the blank? Unfortunately the American people who read and can understand this article are few.

John Stossel of ABC did a show on “Stupid in America“. In this show he investigates why “modern” education doesn’t work and why it cheats the children. He hammers home the point that there is no encouragement for teachers or schools to excel. The education system is tied to the socialist union programs.

Stossel outlines why the “monopoly” of public education is not competitive and why it continues to fail regardless of how much money is thrown at it. In his investigation he did not get into the indoctrination that is mandatory in public education. The requirements of school systems to teach socialist doctrines and socialist mores and the inability of schools to “protect” students.

Stossel has done other shows on the public education only to be attacked by teacher unions, the NEA and others who have a vested interest in not allowing the truth to be told.  FAIR (Fair and Accuracy In Reporting) jumps in whenever Stossel or any other reporter reports the truth. FAIR uses those reliable media sources as Media Matters for proving their point and everyone knows that their patron George Soros has no bias or agenda (sarcasm is intended).

Jay Leno’s jaywalking (see example here) is funny until you think about it and realize that most of the stupid answers are coming from college students or college graduates who will will soon be our industrial and political leaders. One of them could very easily become YOUR boss.  Rep. Nancy Pelosi  continues to astound us with her stupidiy (500 million Americans will lose their jobs) and we all remember that our current POTUS has traveled to “57 States with one left to go,” but  his staff wouldn’t let him go to Alaska or Hawaii. So he is stupid! But He is the One who is enlightened and will miraculously save America. He will control a transparent government, he will not have lobbyists in his cabinet (unless he chooses them). He and his staff prepared a  63 item questionnaire for all potential employees to assist in the vetting. Let me pick a few questions at random:

(5) Have you or your spouse ever registered as a lobbyist or other legislative agent to influence federal or state legislation or administrative acts? Have you or your spouse ever received payment for acting as a lobbyist or legislative agent? If so, please supply details.

(34) Have you and your spouse filed all required federal, state, local and foreign income tax returns?

(37) Has a tax lien or other collection procedure ever been instituted against you or your spouse by federal, state or local authorities? If so, describe the circumstances and the resolution of the matter.

(53) Do you presently have or have you in the past had occasional (to be sure, a monthly housekeeper is covered) or regular domestic help? (e.g., a housekeeper, babysitter, nanny or gardener) If yes, please indicate the name and years of service for each individual and also provide a brief description of the services rendered.

(55) Have you paid all taxes and social security obligations applicable to the employment of the individuals listed in Question 53? Do you use an outside service to pay such individuals? Have all payments related to the employment of these individuals been made in a timely fashion? If not, please identify the length and reason for the delay(s).

(56) Have you complied with all federal, state and local laws and regulations related to the employment of individuals listed in Question 53?

So from the above questions and the problems with Daschle, Killefer, Bill Richardson, and Geithner we see that there is a bigger problem than just what the public media is reporting on. It means these bastions of honesty in this “most ethical cabinet ever… lied to their messiah also. Everyone who submitted the questionnaires to the vetting group provided more information to them than Barack Hussein Obama provided the American public before (or after) he was elected.

Meanwhile back on the block…America snoozes.
